Itinerary

Your knowledgeable expert tour guide shall pick you up from your Cairo hotel in a modern, air-conditioned vehicle to Sinai, where it is about 6 to 7 hours and an ideal time for relaxing as you enjoy the splendid desert landscapes along the way.

If it is within your Egypt tour period of visit, you will also have the chance to see Moses' Springs, a place of much history and many beliefs. Legends say that here, Moses struck a rock with a staff to produce flowing water to supply the thirsty Israelites in their desert pilgrimage from Egypt. An exciting trip that allows the visitor to experience one of the more important moments in biblical history while situated in the stunning desert.

When you reach St. Catherine, we will assist with a smooth check-in to your hotel and later have free time to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings at your leisure.

Lunch will be served at the hotel, followed by a wonderful dinner in the night. These meals will give a chance to rest and taste the local flavors. You will then rest and prepare for the early climb to Mount Sinai after supper.

Meals included: lunch and dinner.

Early morning start: picking up at 1:00 AM. Then, you will be having your tea and coffee at the hotel before your tour guide takes you to Sinai Mountain, where your journey up this sacred mountain will begin. You may learn more about its significance by experiencing it in the company of others—and perhaps one or two comfort stops at huts, where we shall provide you with a hot drink.

As you get closer to the summit, you will begin to enjoy an amazing view of the desert with the sun beginning to rise above it. At this moment, you feel a bit more connected to the divine and it is probably among the most unforgettable experiences on your journey.

St. Catherine Monastery

Visiting the ancient St. Catherine Monastery, one of the oldest and most meaningful Christian monasteries in the world, will be your next adventure. Established in the 6th century, the monastery still stays very impressive in terms of its religious-historical estimation. With your guide, you will learn some things about the history of the monastery and the life of the monks who lived in South Sinai for many centuries.

Tomb of Aaron & Golden Calf Rock

You will also make a brief stop on your return to the hotel to see this rock, where the Israelites are said to have set up the golden calf for worship. Very near, you visit the tomb of Moses' brother Aaron, which is thought to be where this biblical prophet is buried. You will refuel for the next adventure at your hotel after visiting St. Catherine Monastery with a filling breakfast.

After your breakfasts, you will begin your journey back to Cairo, all filled with memories about that strange overnight adventure to Mount Sinai.
