5 Nights - 6 Days Esna - Aswan
Upon arrival at Luxor Airport or Luxor Train Station, our tour manager will greet you and assist you. You’ll then meet your expert Egyptologist guide and begin your journey in Esna, a bustling merchant town renowned for the ancient Temple of Khnum, located 9 meters below street level.
Start with a brief walk to this fascinating temple, followed by a leisurely stroll through Esna’s vibrant streets, where you’ll find stunning textiles and exotic goods.
Overnight: Onboard your Nile boat in Esna.
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
As you sleep, the boat sails to El Kab, a former capital of Upper Egypt, located on the Nile’s east bank. El Kab is home to the Temple of Nekhbet and intricately decorated tombs carved into the mountainside.
Upon arrival, enjoy a scenic walk through a quaint fishing village to explore the necropolis. In the afternoon, the boat continues to Edfu, home to the remarkably well-preserved Greco-Roman Temple of Horus.
A traditional horse-drawn carriage will take you through Edfu’s bustling streets to the temple. After your visit, return to the boat and set sail toward a serene island for the night.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Dedicate this day to the Nile itself. Start with an optional morning walk and breakfast before continuing your peaceful journey along the river. In the afternoon, stop at a picturesque island for a leisurely stroll or a refreshing swim.
As the day ends, there’s an optional opportunity to explore a desert valley adorned with ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and prehistoric inscriptions. These markings hint at the historic trail through the desert to Libya, which took 28 days in ancient times.
In the evening, the boat will dock at the illuminated Temple of Gebel Silsileh.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Here, the Nile flows between two mountain ranges at its narrowest point. This site remains peaceful and untouched, as large cruise ships are not permitted to stop here.
Visit the Temple of Horemheb and explore the ancient sandstone quarries that provided materials for Egypt’s iconic temples. Afterward, relax at a charming riverside café, where you can enjoy tea and a traditional shisha (water pipe).
Continue sailing to a picturesque riverbank, where you can enjoy lunch and swim in the Nile’s refreshing waters.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Awake to the sights and sounds of the Nile as the boat reaches Kom Ombo. This stunning temple, perched on a river bend, was built during the Ptolemaic period atop an older temple. It is dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile-headed god.
After exploring the temple, visit the fascinating Crocodile Museum, which showcases mummified crocodiles and highlights the creature’s significance in ancient times.

Driver: $5 - $10 per day
Nile Cruise Crew: $20 - $30 per person for the duration of the cruise (for the entire crew)

To ensure a smooth and comfortable journey throughout Egypt, we suggest you pack the following items:
Valid Passport (at least 6 months): Double-check that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned arrival date in Egypt, as this is often a requirement for entry.
Sun Protection: Given Egypt’s sunny climate, we recommend packing high-SPF sunscreen and lip balm with sun protection to shield your skin from the intense sun.
UV-Blocking Sunglasses: Protect your eyes from UV rays and reduce glare while sightseeing, especially when exploring outdoor sites like the Pyramids.
Hand Sanitizer: Hygiene is important, particularly when handwashing isn’t always accessible, so be sure to bring a small bottle of hand sanitizer.
Reusable Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is key, particularly in the heat. A refillable water bottle will help you stay refreshed while reducing plastic waste.
Insect Repellent: Particularly useful when visiting sites surrounded by nature, insect repellent will keep pesky bugs at bay and protect you from bites.
Appropriate Clothing for the Season:
Winter: If traveling during the cooler months, pack a warm jacket, sweater, and thermal layers.
Summer: Lightweight, breathable cotton clothes are ideal for staying cool in the hot weather.
Wide-Brimmed Hat: A hat provides shade and helps protect your face and neck from direct sun exposure.
Travel Adapter: Different countries have varying plug types, so bring a universal travel adapter to keep your electronics charged.
Camera or Smartphone: Capture stunning memories from your trip with a camera or your phone. Egypt’s ancient sites are perfect for photos!
Compact Umbrella: Though Egypt is mostly dry, a small umbrella can be handy during the rare rain showers, especially if you're traveling during the transitional months.
Comfortable Shoes: You’ll likely be doing a lot of walking during your sightseeing, so pack sturdy and comfortable shoes suitable for exploring archaeological sites and urban areas.
Medications: If you take prescription medication, ensure you have an adequate supply for the duration of your trip. Also, carry any over-the-counter medications you may need for common issues like headaches or stomach discomfort.
