6 Days - Esna / Aswan
Upon arrival at Luxor airport or train station, you’ll be warmly welcomed and assisted by your tour manager from Luxor and Aswan Tours.
Your Egyptologist tour guide will take you on a fascinating tour of Esna, a vibrant merchant town. Esna is famous for the ancient Temple of Khnum, which is located 9 meters below street level.
Begin your journey with a short walk to the temple, followed by a stroll through the charming streets lined with beautiful textiles and exotic goods.
Overnight on board the Nile boat in Esna.
Meals Included: Lunch, Dinner
While you sleep, the boat gently sails towards El Kab, located on the East Bank of the Nile. Once the capital of Upper Egypt, El Kab is home to the Temple of Nekhbet and several fascinating tombs carved into the mountainside.
Upon arrival, take a leisurely walk through a small fishermen’s village to visit the necropolis. In the afternoon, the boat will dock in Edfu, where you’ll visit the remarkable Greco-Roman Temple of Horus.
Known for its excellent preservation, the temple is reached by a horse-drawn carriage ride through the lively city streets.
Afterward, return to the boat and set sail toward a beautiful island.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
This day is dedicated to relaxing and exploring the river. After an optional morning walk and breakfast, enjoy a leisurely sail. In the afternoon, the boat will stop at an island where you can take a stroll or swim in the Nile. As dusk falls, there may be an opportunity to walk into the desert along a valley filled with ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs and prehistoric inscriptions.
These markings were once part of the shortest route through the desert to Libya. In the evening, the boat will dock at the foot of the floodlit Temple of Gebel Silsileh.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
The Nile narrows here between two mountain ranges, and you’ll likely be the only visitors at this fascinating site, as large cruise ships cannot dock.
Explore the small Temple of Horemheb and walk through the sandstone quarries where ancient Egyptians sourced stone for their temples.
Afterward, visit a charming café to enjoy tea and shisha (waterpipe).
The boat will then sail to a picturesque riverbank where you’ll stop for lunch and swimming.
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After a peaceful night on the water, enjoy a morning visit to the town and Temple of Kom Ombo. Located on a riverbend, the temple was built during the Ptolemaic period and dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile-headed god.
After touring the temple, visit the Crocodile Museum, home to many mummified crocodiles, showcasing their significance in ancient Egyptian culture.

Driver: $5 - $10 per day
Nile Cruise Crew: $20 - $30 per person for the duration of the cruise (for the entire crew)

To ensure a smooth and comfortable journey throughout Egypt, we suggest you pack the following items:
Valid Passport (at least 6 months): Double-check that your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned arrival date in Egypt, as this is often a requirement for entry.
Sun Protection: Given Egypt’s sunny climate, we recommend packing high-SPF sunscreen and lip balm with sun protection to shield your skin from the intense sun.
UV-Blocking Sunglasses: Protect your eyes from UV rays and reduce glare while sightseeing, especially when exploring outdoor sites like the Pyramids.
Hand Sanitizer: Hygiene is important, particularly when handwashing isn’t always accessible, so be sure to bring a small bottle of hand sanitizer.
Reusable Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is key, particularly in the heat. A refillable water bottle will help you stay refreshed while reducing plastic waste.
Insect Repellent: Particularly useful when visiting sites surrounded by nature, insect repellent will keep pesky bugs at bay and protect you from bites.
Appropriate Clothing for the Season:
Winter: If traveling during the cooler months, pack a warm jacket, sweater, and thermal layers.
Summer: Lightweight, breathable cotton clothes are ideal for staying cool in the hot weather.
Wide-Brimmed Hat: A hat provides shade and helps protect your face and neck from direct sun exposure.
Travel Adapter: Different countries have varying plug types, so bring a universal travel adapter to keep your electronics charged.
Camera or Smartphone: Capture stunning memories from your trip with a camera or your phone. Egypt’s ancient sites are perfect for photos!
Compact Umbrella: Though Egypt is mostly dry, a small umbrella can be handy during the rare rain showers, especially if you're traveling during the transitional months.
Comfortable Shoes: You’ll likely be doing a lot of walking during your sightseeing, so pack sturdy and comfortable shoes suitable for exploring archaeological sites and urban areas.
Medications: If you take prescription medication, ensure you have an adequate supply for the duration of your trip. Also, carry any over-the-counter medications you may need for common issues like headaches or stomach discomfort.
